Der Hauptgrund für den Rückgang des Währungspaars GBP/USD ist die anhaltende Stärke des US-Dollars. Der US-Dollar begann seinen Aufwärtstrend, nachdem er im September dieses Jahres seinen Tiefpunkt erreicht hatte, und der Anstieg setzte sich fort, nachdem die Federal Reserve auf ihrer zweiten Sitzung in Folge eine Zinssenkung angekündigt hatte.
Einige Fed-Beamte haben angedeutet, dass sie immer noch über die Inflation in den USA besorgt sind. In einer Erklärung am Montag (3. November) warnte Austan Goolsbee, dass die Inflation zu lange über dem Ziel der Fed von 2,0 % geblieben sei, und deutete an, dass er eine weitere Zinssenkung im Dezember nicht unterstützen würde.

GBP/USD bildete bei 1,3725 ein Doppeltop-Muster, und der Wechselkurs befindet sich derzeit an der Halslinie dieses Musters – diese Position ist auch der tiefste Punkt im August dieses Jahres und fällt mit dem Fibonacci-Retracement-Level von 38,2 % zusammen.
Das Kursziel des Double-Top-Musters wird wie folgt berechnet: Messen Sie zunächst den Abstand vom oberen Ende des Musters (1,3725) bis zur Halslinie. In diesem Fall beträgt die Spanne 4,23 %; Erweitern Sie dann die Nackenlinie um denselben Bereich nach unten, und das Kursziel liegt bei 1,2580.
